What's been going on for Teaching Ithaca Wellness LLC over the summer is truly amazing! I hope to accomplish amazing things with Toga Yoga and the College Cuddle over the next few weeks as well, and I am looking forward to the Finger Lakes Health Fair later in September.
I had an amazing time in the Hudson valley completing the in-person Foundations of Facilitation, I held 2.5 Cuddle Parties in June, and my 3rd review party a week ago today, and I'm looking forward to officially completing Cuddle Party facilitator certification next Wednesday! My business name was approved, and I am an officially registered entity with an EIN and all that jazz. I am slowly growing my 1:1 practice with ongoing regular clients.
Unfortunately the Yoga Festival this weekend is cancelled, and it seems too wet outdoors to properly host Paint Yoga in Washington Park Ithaca this morning, So I hope anyone who was interested in that will join me instead at Earth Rhythms Community Work Party 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM at 1230 Danby Rd. Ithaca.
I am eagerly awaiting 3 more Cuddle Parties in my own home, and I hope to work with Greek letter and independent housing groups to bring the program to social units which already have some dynamics. I feel that Cuddle Party as a team building workshop for young people who will be living and working closely together in an academic setting will bring participants significant benefits such as increased synergy with their housemates, decreased stress, enhanced personal bonding, etc.
The August 11th party was an amazing experience even though there was a bit of a "worst case scenario" at play. At least one of the men who bought tickets messaged me about "gender balance." Finally I was relieved to see a female name show up on the roster, but she emailed the day before the event to cancel due to a family emergency that came up. Five guests listened through the Welcome Circle, and I am grateful to all of you, including those 2 who left when we broke for snack, for the useful feedback.
I will be more mindful of creating time for deeper discussion between guests during the next Welcome Circle on Saturday, August 25th beginning at 4:00 PM. Since classes are starting up at Cornell and Ithaca Colleges, I hope to see many young people either next Saturday, or at one of my September gatherings.
I'm hosting a Friday Nite event September 7th from 7-10 PM, and another Monday September 24th from 6-9 at my home with reduced $10 each price. I hope that homes with 10 or more residents to attend would see the value of bringing me to their location and CONTACT me for details.
Also in September I will be presenting at Finger Lakes Health Fair Saturday September 22 from 10 AM to 5 PM and I hope you'll make it!
